New York Motor Show..

If you miss it, you’ll have to wait until April next year. What - you ask. The New York International Auto Show! First held in 1900, the New York show is the oldest and best-attended motor show in the US. While the Detroit and Los Angeles shows feature more high-profile debuts, New York has had some historic unveilings, including the 1954 Mercedes 300SL Gull-wing; the original 1964 Ford Mustang; and the United States debut of the 1961 Jaguar E-Type.

This year the show will run from March 21st-30th in the ‘Jacob Javits Convention Center’. It will feature some of the hottest cars and trucks ever seen - all under one roof. That means more sneak peeks, more brand new '08 & '09 production models and more concept vehicles than ever before. The auto show includes exhibits from more than forty three various auto manufacturers and related companies, including luxury limousine manufacturers. Many of the exhibits are hands-on, giving the public the opportunity to try sitting in the new vehicles and to explore new technology and features.

Every year the show opens with a sensational display to excite the public and promote the event. This year you can register to win a brand new ‘Volvo’ and other great prizes. Before the official opening, several auto companies debut new production and concept vehicles for the media. In addition, the Greater New York Auto Dealers Association (GNYADA) – which owns and manages the New York International Auto Show - and the International Motor Press Association (IMPA) host corporate meetings and events

Partly because it comes last, after the Los Angeles, Detroit and Chicago shows, New York’s extravaganza invariably unveils an array of intriguing new car and limousine releases that will go on sale later in the year.
